"Old Plank" has its origins in the early 80's making it one of the Chicago suburbs' longest operating facilities. Our early days included work with Chicago stalwarts: The Kind, Material Issue and Jinx (later Wild Blue), as well as singer/songwriter Steve Mullen (Eddie Money, Dave Mason). Later clients included The Buckinghams, John Records Landeker and Liquid Soul. We are proud to have been the studio where the late, great Phil Bonnet learned many of his early engineering and production skills.

Now upgraded to a 24 track digital hard drive multi-track, with CD Redbook, CD 24, DAT, 1/4" or cassette analog mixdown options, "Plank" has maintained its commitment to providing a professional workplace within a relaxed atmosphere condusive to our clients' comfort and creativity. Our location is easily reached via major thoroughfares.

In addition to the collection of instruments on hand for our clients use, we can arrange for a variety of equipment and/or session players to enhance your project.

Finally, owner/operator Steve J engineers or oversees all projects personally. Clients are welcome to bring their own engineer/producer.
